Visit Nepal Year 2020 Europe inaugurated in Berlin

Nepali Ambassador to Germany Ramesh Prasad Khanal and Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board(NTB) Deepak Raj Joshi and Senior Director Nandini Lahe-Thapa among others take part in inaugural session of Visit Nepal Year 2020 Europe amid a programme jointly organised by Nepal Tourism Board and Nepali Embassy, in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

Visit Nepal Year 2020 Europe was inaugurated in German capital city of Berlin on Saturday. Nepali Ambassador to Germany Ramesh Prasad Khanal and Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Deepak Raj Joshi jointly inaugurated the programme amidst a function in Berlin.

More than 300 people including tourism entrepreneurs and tourism ministers of Sri Lanka and Jamaica were present at the event, the statement issued by NTB stated. The event was dedicated to late Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari.

Senior Director of NTB, Nandini Lahe-Thapa called for a minute of silence in honour of the departed souls and requested all support and collaborate in making the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign a success.  On the occasion, Ambassador Khanal appealed to all for their support in making the Visit Nepal Year 2020 successful as per its objective.

NTB CEO Joshi said Nepal was gearing for experiential tourism, and infrastructure development to welcome tourists in the year 2020.  Likewise, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Ed Bartlett thanked Nepal for their cooperation in hosting the regional global resilience Conference.

The keynote address was given by the Nepali Ambassador to Germany Ramesh Prasad Khanal. The Embassy formed a Visit Nepal Year 2020 tourism task group under the direct leadership of the ambassador.

Renowned German journalist Peter Hinze was honoured for his award-winning book on Nepal while Nepal tourism representative in Germany, Dil Gurung Schauler was honoured for his 25 years of dedicated efforts in promoting Nepal in Germany.
