center for trade with India and Tibet. Merchants
from remote Himalayan regions of Nepal, such as
Muktinath and Mustang still come here with mule
trains. The Gurungs and Magars are the

in the hill regions. But the urban population is
now made up of diverse ethnic groups seeking
employment opportunities. The Gurungs and Magars
have reputation as hardworking farmers and

This calm city of Pokhara serves as a base camp
for trekking and rafting trips through the
regions of Annapurna and Western Nepal. Baidam
on the southeastern end of Phewa Lake and is
dominated by restaurants, bars, hotels and
shops, is the gathering place for travelers in
the western regions of Nepal. The island temple
of Barahi is accessible from baidam by dug out
canoes. This two-storied pagoda is dedicated to
the Hindu goddess Ajima. On Saturdays, devotees
paddle across the lake carrying live animals for
sacrifice. Bindhyabasini Mandir is a local Hindu
temple on the northeast of Phewa Lake in the
vicinity of the Old Bazaar. It is dedicated to
Goddess Bhagwati. Devotees perform animal
sacrifices and have picnics in the courtyard on
Saturdays. The Old Bazaar area is still the
commercial hub of merchants from the remote
Himalayas while Phewa Lake site is a pleasure

Day 1. Kathmandu.
On arrival, you will be met by a representative
to provide you with your airport transfer to
your Hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure
to explore the city known as Kantipur, the
capital of the Kingdom of Nepal. (5 Star Hotel

Day 2. Kathmandu & Patan City Tour.
Following breakfast, embark on a morning half
day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city and
Swayambhunath. Here you will visit a famous
Buddhist stupa which is said to be 2000 years
old. The stupa which forms the main structure is
composed of a solid hemisphere of bricks and
earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by
a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four
sided base of the spire are the all seeing eyes
of Lord Buddha.After lunch, you will leave for
Patan City. Patan also known as Lalitpur, is the
city of fine arts, enclosed within 4 stupas said
to be built in 3rd century AD, by Emperor

Day 3.Kathmandu & Bhaktapur Sightseeing Tour.
This morning you will depart for a sightseeing
tour of Bhadgaon and visit Durbar Square. It is
a conglomeration of pagoda and shikhara-style
temples. You will also visit The Lion Gate, The
Golden Gate, The Art Gallery and The Statue of
King Bhupatindra Malla. In the afternoon,
situated 5 km from Kathmandu, you will proceed
to Pashupatinath and Bodhnath. Pashupatinath

Day 4. Kathmandu to Bandipur.
Early departure by road to Kurintar and includes

Bandipur. Bandipur is a picturesque town nestled

Day 5. Bandipur to Pokhara.
After breakfast take a walking tour around
Bandipur Village including Newari. This town has
maintained its age-old flavour, and presents

afternoon for Pokhara. Located on the main road
between Kathmandu and Bhairahawa, there may be
no other place in the world from where Great
Himalayas peaks can be admired from such a close

Day 6. Pokhara Sightseeing Tour.
After breakfast depart for a sightseeing tour of
Pokhara City which includes a one hour boat ride
at lake Phewa. One of the most picturesque

Nepal. The rare combination of snow-clad peaks
and snow fed lakes and rivers is skirted by a
large number of unpretentious lodges and
restaurants, and is the most congenial spot for

Day 7. Pokhara to Kathmandu.
After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu and the
rest of the day is free to shop or enjoy the
